In December we had our annual Xmas get together, and even though it was a very snowy day, we had 12 present at the holiday meeting. One of our member led the group with Xmas songs and season cheer.

In January a newly elected councilwoman, Susan Van Houser, spoke to the group about issues affecting women in politics and shared her goals to help people who voted her into office.

Carol Merrill, WSU university liaison was honored by the Ogden-Weber Chamber of Commerce Women in Business as the 2010 Athena award recipient. We are happy to say that Carol will be taking four new students this year to the AAUW/NASPA Conference for College Women Student Leaders. She will also be a presenter at one of the workshops.

On February 20th, we will be celebrating Black History Month, and our speaker is Marian Howe-Taylor from Salt Lake Community College, a native of Boston now living in Layton with her husband. She will address the National Black History theme "Black Economic Empowerment" to our group, and the public is invited.
