Kayesville/Davis Branch Report
2009-2010

A goal this year was to be more visible in the community so we have opened three meetings to the public and hold those meetings in the Kaysville library.

For our service project in November, we collected 50 quilts and blankets for the Road Home (Homeless Shelter) along with baby items and adult clothing. The branch received lots of visibility on this project.

Our annual Christmas party and auction were very successful. Twenty percent of the funds raised went to EF and eighty percent to fund the Senior High School Art Show in April. The event featured a potluck dinner, member-donated auction items, as well as a white elephant auction. A fun evening was enjoyed by all.

In January we met the new director of the Davis Learning Center an agency who offers ESL classes, a preschool, food pantry, employment and parenting training to low-income and immigrant population.

In February, our program was presented by a female pharmacist on the Wise Use of Medicine at a joint meeting with AAUW and AARP. Three meetings this year are open to anyone as a service to the community and to increase our visibility.

March was "Girls Night Out" and 22 members and guests attended Kiss Me Kate at the Rodgers' Memorial Theatre in Centerville.

The Art Show in April was cancelled because the Barnes Bank closed and we were unable to display and judge the art work. We hope to resume this art show next year when Zion's Bank takes over the facility.

May is our Book Sale in downtown Kaysville and proceeds are used to fund the art show and other branch projects.

We end our year in May with dinner at a Bountiful restaurant.

Two new members joined this year and another has indicated she will join.
