For branch officers, about submitting contributions to the AAUW Education Fund (EF) and the Legal Advocacy Fund (LAF).

On the AAUW website, select the "member center" tab. Login to that page with a membership number, then go to "forms", and find the "Contribution Report Form".

The third page of the forms is a list of types of contributions. The Education Programs (#4336) is where EF monies go (our Utah state's Education Grant Fund is #1843; we would like to have the EF money go there, but it is not a requirement). LAF funds go to the Protection Programs (#3999).

The second page of the contribution forms explains exactly how to full out the first page - the actual form. Each branch may fill out the form for their contributions by following the instructions on page 2. Both LAF and EF monies may be listed on the single form.

The checks for tax deductible contributions be made out to "AAUW Funds".

These tax deductible contributions are based on the regular calendar from January to December so all donations for this year are due before December 31, 2009.

Forms and contributions should be mailed to AAUW Development Office, P.O. Box 98045, Washington, DC 20090-8045.

AAUW National Convention, St. Louis, June 26-28, 2009

Report from Hilarie Orman, AAUW Utah President

I was glad I was able to go the convention and represent our state, meet AAUW members from around the country, and hear some inspiring speakers. St. Louis is a hot and muggy city in summertime, but the convention fairly sizzled with energy in the huge Marriott facility downtown. Utah had a delegation of 4 people: me, Amanda Belloff, Jeanette Mikasa, and Kathy Horvat. The AAUW website has information about the new officers, board, and bylaws, but I've written my impressions at length, which might carry some of the excitement of the convention, and I hope that some of you will consider going in 2011.
